The opening range (OR) is a security’s high and low price for a period after the market open. For intraday traders it’s often the first 5 minutes of the trading day, but can be fifteen, or even thirty minutes. Opening ranges are important to traders because they provide an indication of sentiment and price trend for the day.

Description

The thinkorswim Opening Range High Low with Chart Bubble script is a TOS indicator that adds a line at the opening range high and one at the opening range low. It also adds a chart bubble to the right side of the chart. If you have manually expanded your chart, the bubble will remain near the last candle (current bar).

Options include:

  • or start (default 0930)
  • or end (default 1030)
  • show bubbles (default yes)

These settings define the opening range. The default settings define an opening range of 1 hour.
